RECOGNITION OF THE ASSOCIATION

PORTUGUESE SEA CLUSTER

The “Cluster of the Portuguese Sea”, promoted by Fórum Oceano – Association of the Sea Economy and its associates, was recognized as Emerging Competitiveness Cluster by the Ministers of National Defence, Planning and Infrastructures, Economy and by the Minister of Sea.

Bronze Label

Fórum Oceano (still under the name Oceano XXI) was recognized with the BRONZE LABEL Excellence, awarded by the European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI) on May 20, 2014.

PUBLIC UTILITY ENTITY

Fórum Oceano is, by Order No. 12762/2014, published in the Diário da República(DR), 2nd series, No. 202 of 20 October 2014, considered a Public Utility Entity.

According to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, by Decree-Law 460/77 of 7 November 1977, a legal person is considered to be of Public Utility “… if it pursues purposes of general interest, or of the national community or of any region or constituency, cooperating with the Central Administration or the Local Administration, in terms of meriting from the Administration the declaration of ‘Public Utility'”. (in Diário da República, 1st series, no. 257 of 7 November 1977).
