As empresas que aceitarem o desafio de deslocalizarem-se para a Região, ou startups regionais que estejam a desenvolver projetos na economia azul sustentável, serão apoiadas pela Start Up Madeira e poderão utilizar instalações no Porto do Caniçal cedidas pela APRAM.

Madeira is committed to the development of an innovation ecosystem in the area of the economy of the sea and in that sense, several public and private entities, in partnership with Forum Oceano, have joined forces to create the Blue Hub Madeira, a project that includes an international call that aims to attract, already in 2024, 10 international start-ups to work in the economy of the sea. The project was presented in May, in the Region.

Companies that accept the challenge of relocating to the Region, or regional start-ups that are developing projects in the sustainable blue economy, will be supported by Start Up Madeira and may use facilities at the Port of Caniçal provided by APRAM.

HUB AZUL MADEIRA OPEN CALL
O programa Hub Azul Madeira, organizado pela Startup Madeira e pelo Fórum Oceano, divide-se em duas fases sequenciais: Bootcamp e Implementação.

A fase de Bootcamp terá lugar de 16 a 18 de outubro de 2023, na Ilha da Madeira, Portugal.
Tem como objetivo acolher e trabalhar com um grupo de startups ligadas à Economia Azul e servirá para desenvolver as estratégias, modelos de negócio, produtos e/ou processos das startups e alinhá-los com os objectivos do programa Hub Azul Madeira.

A participação no Bootcamp requer que a equipa esteja presente fisicamente na Ilha da Madeira, com o objetivo de trabalhar e partilhar a experiência de negócio com outras startups e com mentores locais. Durante o Bootcamp, todos os participantes serão assistidos e acompanhados por anfitriões locais.

Até 10 das startups participantes serão selecionadas no final do Bootcamp para terem a opção de passar à fase de Implementação.
Esta fase terá início com a comunicação dos resultados, no dia 19 de outubro de 2023, e não tem uma data final definida.
Tem como objetivo apoiar as startups selecionadas a estabelecerem-se e a operarem de forma permanente nas instalações do Hub Azul Madeira, localizado na zona do Caniçal, Madeira.
A participação na fase de Implementação é voluntária, o que significa que as startups podem rejeitar a participação na fase de Implementação se forem selecionadas após o Bootcamp.

Objetivos do programa Hub Azul Madeira:
O programa HUB Azul Madeira tem como objetivo criar um hub de conhecimento e inovação, especializado na Economia Azul, na Ilha da Madeira, gerando, multiplicando e beneficiando dos efeitos do ecossistema nestas indústrias.

Na fase de Bootcamp cada startup irá ganhar mais conhecimento, impulsionar a sua startup, bem como aumentar o seu networking com alguns dos mais relevantes stakeholders da Economia Azul na Ilha da Madeira.

Na fase de Implementação, as startups selecionadas que aceitarem a sua seleção irão mudar-se para a zona do Caniçal, na ilha da Madeira. Isto irá alavancar ainda mais a sua atividade, dando-lhes acesso a ativos e serviços específicos que fazem parte do Hub Azul Madeira, bem como mentoria permanente e apoio de uma rede de mentores da Economia Azul. O objetivo desta fase é identificar e atrair startups relevantes da Economia Azul para a Ilha da Madeira.

HUB AZUL MADEIRA OPEN CALL
The Hub Azul Madeira program, organized by Startup Madeira and Forum Oceano, is divided in two sequential stages: Bootcamp and Implementation.

The Bootcamp stage will take place on the 16-18 of October 2023, in Madeira Island, Portugal.
It aims at welcoming and working with a group of Blue Economy-related Startups and will be used to develop the Startups’ strategies, business models, products and/or processes and align them with the aims of the Hub Azul Madeira program.

Participating in the Bootcamp requires that the team is present physically in Madeira Island, with the objective of working and sharing the business experience with other startups and with local mentors. During the Bootcamp, all participants will be assisted and accompanied by local hosts.

Up to 10 of the participating Startups will be selected at the end of the Bootcamp to be given the option to move on to the Implementation stage.
This stage will begin with the communication of the results, on the 19th of October 2023, and does not have a defined end date.
It aims at supporting the selected Startups in establishing themselves and operating permanently on the premises of Hub Azul Madeira, located in the Caniçal area, Madeira.
Participation in the Implementation stage is voluntary, meaning that Startups are allowed to reject participation in the Implementation stage if they are selected after the Bootcamp.

Hub Azul Madeira program aims:
The HUB Azul Madeira program aims at creating a knowledge and innovation hub, specialized in the Blue Economy, in Madeira Island, generating, multiplying, and benefitting from ecosystem effects in these industries.

In the Bootcamp stage each Startup will gain more knowledge, boost their Startup, as well as increase their networking with some of the most relevant Blue Economy stakeholders in Madeira Island.

In the Implementation stage, the selected Startups that accept their selection will relocate to the Caniçal area, in Madeira island. This will further leverage their activity by giving them access to specific assets and services that are part of the Hub Azul Madeira, as well as permanent mentorship and support from a network of Blue Economy mentors. The aim of this stage is to identify and attract relevant Blue Economy startups to Madeira Island.
